Margaret M. Eagar, 94, of Haverhill, passed away Monday, Jan. 9, at Holy Family Hospital, Methuen.
Eagar was born, raised and educated in Haverhill and was a graduate of Regis College, Boston. For many years, she was a teacher and head librarian for Haverhill Public Schools. She was a longtime member of the local teachers union and active in political circles and local recycling programs. She loved to travel, was an avid reader, enjoyed being with friends and family and was very dedicated to her church and supported many local organizations.
Her family members include several cousins and close friends.
Family and friends are invited to calling hours Friday Jan. 13, from 4 to 8 p.m., at Charles F. Dewhirst Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen. A funeral mass takes place Saturday, Jan. 14, 10 a.m., in All Saints Church, 120 Bellevue Ave., Haverhill. Burial is in St. James Cemetery, Haverhill.
