Three Whittier Vo-Tech students have qualified to advance in DECA competition.
Eleven members of Whittier’s DECA chapter competed last week at Merrimack College on the regional level. Their scores in the competition, which includes role-playing in business situations and a written exam, qualified them to move on to state competition in March.
Junior Logan Slevoski was Whittier’s highest scorer, with a second-place finish in Sports and Entertainment Marketing.
Senior Jonathan Pena finished in fourth place in Hotel and Lodging Management, and Senior Gabe Cameron finished in fifth place in Restaurant and Food Service Management.
DECA is an international association that prepares high school and college students for leadership positions in marketing, culinary and hospitality industries, and entrepreneurship.
