Haverhill residents interested in learning more about public preschool can attend an open house at Moody School.
Dates are Wednesday, Jan. 11, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. or Friday, Jan. 13, from 1 to 2 p.m. Visitors can tour the school, meet staff and collect an application to enroll their pre-school child for the 2017-2018 school year.
Applicants must turn 3 by Aug. 31 to be accepted for the start of the school year in September. Preschool is open to children who are 3 and 4 years old. Morning and afternoon sessions are available and students can attend on either a two- or four-day schedule.

Whittier Vo-Tech Students Compete in DECA Event
Eleven business, marketing, culinary and hospitality students represented Whittier Vo-Tech Thursday in a DECA competition at Merrimack College.
This is the first year for Whittier Regional Vocational Technical High School’s DECA chapter to participate in competitive events.
Students whose scores qualify will move on to compete at the state level in March.
DECA is an international association for students in marketing, management and entrepreneurship programs. Whittier’s is one of 3,500 high school chapters.
The organization’s acronym dates back to its founding in 1947 as the Distributive Education Club of America.
