Community Action Offers Free English for Work Classes

Community Action’s Adult Learning Center is offering a free “English for Work” program for intermediate and advanced level English for Speakers of Other Languages.

The 16-week program helps students improve English, reading and writing skills; improve communication at work; create a better resume; explore career interests; prepare for college or job training; and develop strategies for meeting personal goals.

Classes take place from Jan. 18 to May 18 on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday nights, from 6 to 9 p.m., at 10 Phoenix Row, first floor, Haverhill, MA 01832.

Registration takes place Jan. 11 and 12, at 6 p.m., on the third floor of the Coombs Building, 3 Washington Square. For information, call Peter Espiefs at 978-373-1971, ext. 249, or email him at [email protected].

  1. This is the perfect example of what out of control liberalism looks like in action.
    An adult in this country who doesn’t have the ability to read, write and speak English is obviously a criminal trespasser in this country illegally. There is no way a person raised in this country reaches adulthood without learning those skills. A mandatory requirement of people becoming a legal naturalized citizen is that they “must” know how to read, write and speak English.

    Hopefully, Trump will defund these insane liberal public programs and policies that financially support illegal activity and which take jobs away from Americans.
