Blanche A. (Riley) Hammer, 94, wife of Norman L. Hammer, passed away at her home Jan. 1, surrounded by those she loved.
Born in Haverhill July 14, 1922, Hammer was the daughter of the late Almon and Grace (Leighton) Riley. She was educated in Haverhill. After having raised her family she was employed as a laundress at Baker Katz Nursing Home for many years. She attended the former Grace United Methodist Church. Hammer enjoyed gardening, knitting, crocheting and painting.
Besides her husband of 73 years, Hammer is survived by her daughters, Sandra Moreau and her husband Kenneth, Nancy Noel and her husband Roland, both of Haverhill; and grandson, Michael Noel of Haverhill. She was predeceased by her nine siblings.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service Friday, Jan. 6, at 11 a.m., in the chapel at Linwood Cemetery, 41 John Ward, Ave., Haverhill.
