Beatrice Rose Deveau, 98, Worked at Western Electric

Beatrice Rose (Lacerte) (Roger) Deveau, 98, a former longtime resident of Bradford, died Jan. 1.

Born and raised in Manchester, N.H., daughter of Hormidas and Florida (Gagnon) Lacerte, she attended Manchester schools and was a member of St. Josephs Parish, Haverhill, and worked as a bench hand at Western Electric for 20 years until she retired. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, and a former CWA AFL-CIO member of Union 1365. Deveau enjoyed playing golf for exercise and socializing with friends. Her family thanks the staff of Wingate at Haverhill, and Compassus Hospice, for their care and compassion.

She is survived by her brother Bertrand Lacerte of Bradford; sister Rita Comeau of Plaistow, N.H.; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband Paul Raymond Roger in 1962, and second husband Dennis Joseph Deveau in 2003, brother Roland Lacerte and sister Lucille  Easties.

Relatives and friends are welcome to attend calling hours from 11 a.m. to noon, at Berube-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill, and funeral mass at All Saints Church at 12:30, Jan. 5, with graveside services immediately following at St. Joseph cemetery.
