School Notes: Haverhill Students Return from Holiday Break

Students in Haverhill’s public and private schools returned to class today after a weeklong holiday break.

At Haverhill High School, mid-term exams begin Jan. 5 and continue through the 19th, with a make-up day on Jan. 20.

Twenty-nine Haverhill High students recently were inducted into the National Foreign Language Honor Society representing French, German, Italian, Latin and Spanish. The foreign language honor society is a new opportunity for students and joins the National Honor Society and the National Business Honor Society at HHS.

Pentucket Lake School, where the motto is Read Strong, Learn Strong, Be Strong, offers a book swap in Room 107. Pentucket Lake students can pick up and drop off books during school hours. Parents are invited to recycle books their children have already read, and pick up new reading materials to fill stormy days when kids have to remain indoors.
