So Long, Christmas: Haulers Will Pick Up Trees At Curb. Jan 3-13

Undecorated trees can be left curbside for pickup, but remember, just one per customer.

Beginning Jan. 3, Haverhill’s trash hauler, Capitol Waste Service, will collect Christmas trees for recycling by chipping machine.

From Jan. 3 through 13, residents will be allowed to place one tree curbside, per household, during their scheduled trash collection day. No appointment is required and ornaments, lights, wires, tinsel and other decoration must be removed for safety reasons and to prevent damage to chipping machinery.

Holiday lights can be recycled, at no cost, at the recycling center behind the Haverhill Public Works Department office, 500 Primrose St., Wednesday and Saturday, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Lights must be kept separate from the single-stream recycling program and not placed curbside.
