Jeremiah F. Sullivan, 74, 19-Year-Veteran of Methuen Fire Dept.

jeremiah_sullivanJeremiah F. Sullivan, 74, of Haverhill, died peacefully in his sleep Saturday, Dec. 24, at his home.

Born in Lawrence, son of the late James and Barbara (Mallon) Sullivan he attended Lawrence public schools before moving to Methuen with his family. His children remember him as a hard-working, loving father who overcame many obstacles in his lifetime and dedicated himself to being the best father and firefighter he could be. With perseverance, he accomplished his goal of becoming a firefighter, becoming lieutenant passing the captain’s exam during his 19-year career at the Methuen Fire Department.

He is survived by his children, Shawn Patrick Sullivan and wife Njeri Mwangi Sullivan of Windsor, N.H., Sheila Sullivan Kane and husband, Raymond Kane Jr. of Bradford, and James Sullivan of Felton, Del.; grandchildren Shaun Michael and wife Kristen, Cassandra, Joseph, James Jeremiah, Jeremy, Lucas and Kendra; sisters Dorothy Sullivan of Lawrence, Ruth D’Urso and husband Steve of Hampton Beach, N.H., and Jane Sullivan of Lawrence; as well as many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by sisters Kathleen Mambro of Haverhill and Barbara Kennedy of Amesbury.

Relatives and friends are invited to call Wednesday, Dec. 28, from 5 to 8 p.m., at Berube-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill. His funeral begins at 11 a.m., Thursday, from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at noon, in All Saints Church, 120 Bellevue Ave., Haverhill.
