Updated: Rose Blye, 91, Spent 41 Years in Local Shoe Industry

Rose (Manetti) Blye, 91, passed away peacefully at her home Dec. 21, surrounded by those she loved. She was the wife of the late Jack London Blye.

Born in Lawrence Dec. 7, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Aurelio and Felicia (Rossi) Manetti. She had a successful and dedicated 41-year career in Haverhill’s shoe industry where she worked as a stitcher at Grieco Brothers before retiring in 1987. She was a member of the former St. Rita’s Church where she sang in the choir, a member of the Women’s City Club of Haverhill, Haverhill Garden Club and the Haverhill Social Club. She was an accomplished artist studying with Linda Neilson. She completed many oil paintings which she displayed in her home.

Blye is survived by her children, David Blye and wife Sandra of Chester, N.H., Susan Hayes and husband Barry of Atkinson, N.H., Nancy Stevens and her fiancée William Weber of Haverhill, and Sandra Thompson and husband Michael of Haverhill; eight grandchildren; six great grandsons; and sister, Beatrice Spera of Haverhill. She was the mother of the late Frank G. Blye.
