Robert W. Chisnall, 79, Longtime Mechanic at Marble Motors

robert_chisnallRobert W. Chisnall, 79, of Haverhill, husband of Dorothea E. (Smith) Chisnall passed away Dec. 19, at Holy Family Hospital at Merrimack Valley surrounded by his family.

Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Wesley and Helena R. (Garvey) Chisnall. He attended Haverhill Trade School, class of 1955, where his love of cars began and where he learned automobile mechanics. He was employed as a mechanic for more than 33 years at Marble Motors in Haverhill. He was a fan of the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots and Bruins. In his spare time he enjoyed playing games of softball. He also enjoyed vacations in the mountains of Northern New England and loved road trips to Florida. He was a member of the Bradford Athletic Club for many years.

In addition to his wife Dorothea, with whom he shared 52 years of marriage, he is survived by his children, John R. Chisnall and his significant other Wendy of Haverhill, Robert W. Chisnall Jr. and his significant other Vicky of Hampton, N.H., Brenda M. Boisselle of Haverhill and Jody Ann Plourde and her husband Roland E. of Haverhill; six grandchildren, Danielle Graham and her husband Justin of Haverhill, Andrew Plourde and his fiancé Gina of Brighton, Connor Chisnall of Haverhill, Nicholas Boisselle, Brandon Boiselle and Adam Boiselle all of Haverhill; several nieces and nephews; and his grand dogs and great grand dogs. He was predeceased by his siblings, Wesley Chisnell, John R. Senter and Maryann Howes.

Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours Friday, Dec. 23 from 4 to 7 p.m., at Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill. A family celebration follows at 7 p.m., in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made in his name to Veterans Northeast Outreach Center, 10 Reed St
