Gordon W. Dunkley, 74, Sales Manager, NAPA Auto Parts

gordon_dunkleywhavGordon W. Dunkley, 74, of Haverhill, passed away Monday, Dec. 19, at Holy Family Hospital, Methuen.

Dunkley was born in Lawrence, Aug. 26, 1942, son of the late Clement and Rita (Gordon) Dunkley. Educated in the Salem, N.H., school system, he graduated from Woodbury (Salem) High School in 1960 and attended culinary school after graduation. He was a talented musician and athlete. In 1993, he was inducted into the Woodbury/Salem High School Hall of Fame, recognized for his standout accomplishments in football, basketball and baseball. He spent close to four decades with NAPA Auto Parts, most notably as sales manager for various store locations across the area. Dunkley enjoyed spending his time with his family and friends, attending grandchildren’s sporting events, completing crossword puzzles and nights out on the town.

His survivors include three children, Scot and his wife Sheila Dunkley of Atkinson, N.H., Brian and his wife Katie Dunkley of Haverhill and Sarah and her husband Brian Strausbaugh of Raynham; six grandchildren, Brianna Dunkley, Shayla Strausbaugh, Cameron Dunkley, Caden Dunkley, Ty Strausbaugh and Aliceyn Strausbaugh; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Clement Dunkley Jr.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours Thursday, Dec. 22, from 4 to 7 p.m., at H.L. Farmer and Sons Bradford Funeral Home, 210 South Main St. (route 125), Bradford. His funeral service follows at 7:15 p.m., at the funeral home. Burial will be private and at the convenience of his family.
