Eleanor H. (Kaplan) Segal-Baratt, 85, Worked at Hale Hospital

Eleanor H. (Kaplan) Segal-Baratt, 85, of Haverhill, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 21, at Merrimack Valley Health Center, Amesbury.

She was born in Dorchester Jan. 21, 1931, daughter of the late David and Mollie (Lampkin) Kaplan. She was educated in Dorchester schools and came to Haverhill in 1950. She was employed at the former Hale Hospital for more than 15 years until her retirement. She also worked with her late husband Joseph Segal at QSP on Essex Street in Haverhill. She was a member of Temple Emanu-El in Haverhill, Hadassah and the Sisterhood at the Temple. She enjoyed playing bridge, mahjong and traveling with her husband Joe.

She was the wife of the late Joseph Segal who passed away in 1991, and is survived by her two daughters Margery and her husband Michael Driscoll of Haverhill and Susan and her husband Robert Baumann of Bradford; grandson Michael D. Baumann and his husband Crosby Elliott of Boston; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Charlotte White and Eileen Brown.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service Friday, Dec. 23, 11 a.m., at H.L. Farmer and Sons Bradford Funeral Home, 210 South Main St. (route 125) Bradford. Burial follows in the Children of Israel Cemetery, Middle Road, Haverhill. There will be no Shiva period. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Assoc., 480 Pleasant St. Watertown, MA 02472 or the donor’s choice.
