Claire C. (Comeau) Bond, 73, Worked for State

claire_bondClaire C. (Comeau) Bond, 73, passed away peacefully Dec. 13, at Pine Knoll Nursing Center, Lexington.

Born in Haverhill, she was the daughter of Alma C. (Boisselle) of Salem and the late Joseph N. Comeau. Raised and educated in Haverhill, she was a graduate of Haverhill High School, class of 1961. She attended University of Massachusetts and McIntosh Business School in Lawrence. She was employed by the Massachusetts Transitional Assistance Department for more than 25 years. She was a gifted writer and had a great sense of humor. Being a sun worshipper, she spent vacations on the beaches of Florida and enjoyed Salisbury Beach. She loved traveling to Nova Scotia, where her father’s family was from. Bond also enjoyed taking daily walks and hiking in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. She found the most joy in being in the company of family.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her brothers, David R. Comeau and his wife Helen I. of Sterling, Peter R. Comeau and his wife Lorene A. of Andover and Phillip L. Comeau and his wife Sandra R. of Newburyport; and nieces and nephews, Jill Comeau, Stephen Comeau, Nicoli Dominn, Leah Comeau, Scott Comeau and Andrew Comeau.

Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours Tuesday, Dec. 20 from 10 to 11 a.m., at St. Mary Queen of Peace Church, 200 Lawrence Road, Salem, N.H. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., in the church. Burial ise private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bipolar Disorder Research Fund, Dr. Dost Ongur, McLean Hospital, 115 Mill Street, Belmont, MA 02478. Arrangements are by the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill.
