School Notes: NECC Accepts 36 HHS Seniors ‘On the Spot’

In September, Mayor James Fiorentini, Superintendent James F. Scully, and NECC President Lane Glenn congratulated Haverhill High students accepted “on-the-spot” to study at Northern Essex Community College. On a second admissions day last week, 36 more students got the word they will start college in September.

Thirty-six Haverhill High School seniors were accepted for the fall semester to Northern Essex Community College when admissions representatives visited HHS for on-the-spot acceptance day on Dec. 8.

The next on-the-spot day is scheduled for Dec. 19 when admissions representatives from Salem State University will visit HHS beginning at 9 a.m. Students who have already applied and those interested in learning more are invited to a session on Tuesday, Dec. 13, at 9 a.m. in the Counseling Department conference room.

Break a leg!

Once the domain of the Nettle Knight Players, the middle school drama club has been expanded district-wide under the new name HPS Theatre Company.

Auditions for the spring production of Broadway’s Junior Aladdin continue on Monday and Wednesday, Dec. 12 and 14, from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Nettle School cafeteria.

Holiday music

Consentino Middle School students will perform in the school’s Christmas Concert on Monday, Dec. 12, in the school cafeteria beginning at 7 p.m.
