Marilyn (Flaherty) Parsons, 65, IRS Analyst

marilyn_parsonsMarilyn (Flaherty) Parsons, 65, of Bradford, passed away suddenly Tuesday, Dec. 6.

She was the wife of Robert W. Parsons, mother of Coleen, Kelly, Laura and Brian, and  daughter of the late Matthew and Ida Flaherty. She was born in Revere and raised in Winthrop where she started her family. In the early 1980s they moved to Middleton and, in the early 2000s, to Southern New Hampshire before finally settling in Bradford in 2010.

Parsons was a graduate of Winthrop High School. She worked as an analyst for Internal Revenue Service for 32 years. She loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren, Shawna, Brandon, Ashley, Hannah, Abigail, Benjamin, Leigha and Jason Jr. She enjoyed gardening and traveling with her husband Bob. She also loved visiting her lifelong friend Cheryl Wadkins of Destin, Fla.

Her surviving family members include her husband of 47 years, Robert W. Parsons; four children Coleen (Parsons) O’Neal and husband Ian, Kelly (Parsons) Cunha, Lauralee (Parsons) Lizotte and husband Jason and Brian P. Parsons and wife Elizabeth; siblings Robert Flaherty and wife Paula of Winthrop, Linda Sabella of Windham, N.H., and Mary Lou Suttie and husband James of Revere, Matthew Flaherty and wife Camille of Salem, N.H.; sister in-law Susan Carey of Hudson; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Visitation will be Friday, Dec. 9, at Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 South Main St., Bradford, from 4 to 7 p.m. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated  Saturday in Sacred Hearts Church, Bradford, at 10 a.m. Please meet directly at the Church. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Bradford.
