Downtown Haverhill Restaurant to Provide Free Thanksgiving Meals

A downtown Haverhill restaurant wants to be certain no one goes hungry Thanksgiving Day.

Stuft, which normally serves Mexican food at its 150 Washington St. restaurant, is opening its doors for a free traditional Thanksgiving meal from 9:30 a.m. to noon, or until supplies run out.

“We all know Thanksgiving is around the corner and we want to welcome all who are hungry or alone that day, to a meal at Stuft…We will be serving a traditional full thanksgiving meal for free,” says proprietors Paul Tomacchio and Miriam Martinez.

Tomacchio’s father, Jim, who earlier operated a pizza shop at the location, said the menu includes roasted turkey, candied carrots, mashed potatoes, stuffing and salad. If seating is not immediately available, Stuft is providing take-out containers.

The restaurant will have at least 200 pounds of turkey on hand.

“It’s Thanksgiving. That’s all I can say,” the elder Tomacchio said when asked.
