Wayne V. Lyons, 69, Worked at Anna Jaques Hospital

Wayne V. Lyons, 69, of Haverhill, passed away Monday, Nov. 14, at his home after a brief illness with his loved ones by his side.

Lyons was born in Newburyport, Nov. 8, 1947, son of the late James J. and Marjorie E. (Wood) York. He was educated in south shore school districts and graduated from Newburyport High School. He was employed for many years as a security guard at Anna Jaques Hospital and other various local institutions. Lyons enjoyed hiking, mountain climbing and bike riding with his fiancé, spending time outside no matter what the occasion and a good cookout. He also had a love of music, especially the Eagles.

Besides his parents, Lyons was predeceased by his step father, Raymond York, who raised Wayne from a young age. He is survived by his fiancé of 19 years, Lisa McRae of Haverhill; son Michael Lyons of Lunenburg; two daughters, Kellie Taylor of Kingston, N.H. and Tracie Crocker of Pittsfield, N.H.; sister, Marjorie (Mardee) Beauparlant and her husband George of Newburyport, seven grandchildren; a great grandchild; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend Franny Loguercio. He also had many cats that he loved.

At his request, there will be no calling hours. Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of his family. Arrangements are by the H.L. Farmer and Sons Funeral Homes and Cremation Service Haverhill and Bradford.
