John W. “Bill” Judson Jr., 82, Served on U.S.S. Forrestal

John W. “Bill” Judson Jr., 82, of Plaistow, N.H., passed away Nov. 12,  at Holy Family Hospital. He was the husband of Dorinda (Howland) Judson.

Born in Plaistow, N.H., Aug. 28, 1934, he was the son of the late John W. and Janie P. (Matthews) Judson. He graduated from Haverhill Trade School, class of 1953, and then joined the U. S. Navy. He served as a machinist mate third class onboard the U.S.S. Forrestal, and following eight years of service was honorably discharged in 1960. He took great pride in being a “plank owner” of the U.S.S. Forrestal. He then began a fulfilling 38-year career at Western Electric working as a layout operator and then as an engineering assistant before retiring in 1997. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Plaistow; Plaistow Fish & Game Club; Plaistow Fire Dept. for 38 years;Masonic Lodge in Kingston, N.H., and was Plaistow Fire Inspector 17 years.

Besides his wife of 57 years, he is survived by his son John W. “Jay” Judson III and his wife Kelly of Plaistow; grandsons, Aaron and Benjamin Judson of Plaistow; sister, Donna M. Foy and husband John of Newton, N.H.; and one niece and one nephew.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service Thursday, Nov. 17th,11. a.m., at  First Baptist Church, 122 Main St., Plaistow, NH. Interment at Plaistow Cemetery will be private.
