Two Mount Washington neighborhood groups, Urban Kindness and Power of Self Education (POSE), will help residents and others decorate that neighborhood with lights for the holidays Saturday, Nov. 19, in Currier Square.
An event, “Light Up The Hill,” hosted by Urban Kindness’ Keith Boucher, takes place from 1 to 3 p.m., at 375 Washington St, the intersection of High Street. He called it an effort “to restore pride in Mount Washington and put a smile on our children’s faces.”
“We have 15 200 light sets and 25 100 light sets on their way! All solar powered,” Boucher said in a post. He also invited others wishing to donate solar light sets, or provide six to eight-foot step ladders, to attend the event.
Earlier, Boucher created a fundraising page for the lights on the GoFundMe, according to POSE Co-founder and CEO Katrina Hobbs-Everett. She credited her husband Dennis Everett Jr. with the idea of “Light Up The Hill.”
“We asked our good friend Keith Boucher of Urban Kindness to join Power of Self Education – POSE Inc.’s effort to make this idea come to life,” Hobbs-Everett said. “Let’s make Mount Washington a spectacular Christmas sight to see!”
The effort, so far, has raised $480 toward a $1,000 goal.
