Haverhill Man Among 3 Charged After Drug-Trafficking Investigation

A Haverhill man was among three people charged by Haverhill police Sunday in connection with a drug trafficking investigation.

Police arrested Newton Romero, 25, of 4 Swasey St., Haverhill Sunday afternoon on High Street, and charged him with disturbing the peace and a weapons storage violation.

Two Lawrence residents, Carlos Martinez, 24, and Christian Paredes, 19, were each charged with trafficking in cocaine, trafficking in heroin/morphine/opium and conspiracy to violate drug laws. Martinez also was charged with disorderly conduct.

All are scheduled to be arraigned in Haverhill District Court.

In other police news:

Deanna Clarke, 25, of 43 Douglas St., Haverhill, was arrested at12:13 a.m. Saturday at 122 Rosemont St. and charged with possession of a class B drug and a marked lanes violation.

Christea Sardella, 45, of 226 Willow Ave., Haverhill, was arrested 8:35 p.m. Friday at 298 Willow Ave. She was charged with driving under the influence of liquor and drugs and leaving the scene of property damage.

Kerry Davis, 30, of Methuen, was arrested 10:42 p.m. Friday at 27 Victor St. and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and assault and battery. She had an outstanding warrant related to assault and battery on a person over 60 or disabled, assault and battery on a household member and resisting arrest.

Joseph Godwin, 42, of 57 Beach St., Haverhill, related to an abuse prevention order violation, assault on family or household member, destruction of property, driving with a suspended license, license and registration not in possession, number plate violation, failure to wear a seat belt, 57 Beach St., 10:09 p.m.

Carlos Perez, 37, of 71 Franklin St., Haverhill, related to receiving stolen property, larceny by check and uttering a false check, 67 Franklin St., 11:10 p.m.

Saturday

Richard Reynoso, 27, of 8 Federal St., Haverhill, related to driving with a suspended registration, driving an uninsured motor vehicle, 1 Washington Ave., 10:05 p.m.

Friday

Luis Vega, 22, of 32 Nichols St., Haverhill, related to assault with intent to murder, firearm discharge within 500 feet of a dwelling, possession of a firearm without an identification card, disorderly conduct and fighting in a public place, 32 Nichols St., 3:09 p.m.
