Mary F. (Quickley) Kee, 91, Worked at Western Electric

mary_keeMary F. (Quickley) Kee, 91, of Haverhill, passed away Nov. 2, at Merrimack Valley Hospice House.

Keewas born in Haverhill, Oct. 14, 1925, daughter of the late Caesar and Viola (Schencks) Quickley. She was educated in the Haverhill school system and graduated from Haverhill High School in 1944. She attended Cheyney State Teachers College in Philadelphia. In 1950, she married the late Nathaniel A. Kee. Kee was employed at Lucent Technologies (formerly Western Electric) for 27 years. She retired as a supervisor and was a lifetime member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. She was also a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Haverhill. Known as “Tootsie,” she was a fan of the Boston Celtics, Red Sox and the New England Patriots and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Kee was predeceased by three brothers,Harold, Richard and Howard Quickley and two sisters, the late Anna (Sue) Quickley and Viola Moses. She is survived by two children, Stephen D. Kee and his wife Donna of Haverhill, and Nadine Foster and her husband Tracy of New Jersey; two sisters, Janet Carter and Pearl Perry both of Haverhill; seven grandchildren, Stephen DeVoe, Kori DeVoe, Raquel DiPrima and her husband Salvatore, Teena Alfaro and her husband Eddie, Trenice and Aliyah Foster, and Jeffrey Stott; as well as several great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Her family expresses gratitude to Merrimack Valley Hospice House for devoted care and service. Calling hours take place Sunday, Nov. 6, from 2 to 5 p.m., at H.L Farmer and Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill. Her funeral is private. In lieu of flowers, Contributions in her memory may be made to the Haverhill Firefighting Museum, 75 Kenoza Ave., Haverhill, MA 01830-4132.
