City Woman Among 6 Charged in Drug Investigations

A Haverhill woman and five New Hampshire residents face drug-dealing charges as a result of two investigations by Haverhill police.

Haverhill detectives arrested Amber Williams, 21, of 77 Franklin St., Haverhill at 753 Main St. and charged her with possession of a Class B drug, conspiracy to violate drug laws, and carrying a dangerous weapon.

Also charged were Cote Colby, 21, and Kara Welch, 25, both of Kingston, N.H., and Brian McKinney, 21, of Somersworth, N.H. The arrests took place Wednesday between 7:07 and 7:53 p.m.

Colby was taken into custody on Interstate 495. The others were taken into custody a short time later at 753 Main St.

Colby was charged with drug possession with intent to distribute, conspiracy to violate drug laws and disguise to obstruct justice. He also had an outstanding warrant related to possession of a class B drug, being present where heroin is kept, conspiracy to violate drug laws and drug violation near a school zone.

Like Williams, Welch and McKinney were charged with possession of a Class B drug, conspiracy to violate drug laws, and carrying a dangerous weapon.

Also on Wednesday, Craig Tinsley, 33, of Newmarket, N.H., and Frank Souther Jr., 32, of Seabrook, N.H., were arrested between 3:29 and 5:14 p.m. at CVS Pharmacy, 425 Lowell Ave. Each was charged with drug possession with intent to distribute. Tinsley also was charged with driving under the influence of drugs and negligent operation.

All are scheduled to be arraigned in Haverhill District Court.

In other police news:

Zachary Borg, 22, of 34 White St., Haverhill, was arrested at 2:50 p.m. Wednesday at 360 Washington St. and charged with possession of a Class A drug. He also had an outstanding warrant related to assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Sean Thibedeau, 24, of 93 White St., Haverhill, was arrested at 1:33 p.m. Wednesday on White Street on a warrant related to felony breaking and entering in the daytime and destruction of property.

Ryan Messina, 28, of 1 Bartlett St., Haverhill, was arrested Wednesday at 1:22 p.m. at 2 Hilldale Ave. and charged with two counts of possession of a class E drug. He also had outstanding warrants related to possession of a counterfeit note, driving with a suspended license and leaving the scene of property damage.
