Eva Marie (Sheys) Jabour, 78, Owner of Sam Ceramics

eva_marie_jabourEva Marie (Sheys) Jabour, 78, of Methuen and formerly of Haverhill, wife of the late Salvatore Jabour, passed away Saturday, Oct. 29, at Holy Family in Haverhill surrounded by her family.

Born in Haverhill, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Pearl Sheys. Raised and educated in Haverhill, she was a graduate of Haverhill High School, class of 1956. She attended Atlantic Union College in Lancaster and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in education. She went on to receive her master’s degree, also in education. Throughout her entire career she taught all over the United States for the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Her life was dedicated to the church and she was a member of the Haverhill Seventh Adventist Church for more than 60 years and was a member of the Amesbury Seventh Day Adventist Church for the past few years. She adopted seven children and fostered hundreds of children after her retirement in her 30s. She was the owner of Sam Ceramics, a local ceramic school and taught classes for years. She has knit many hats and gloves for the city of Haverhill’s homeless community. She loved to cook and host parties at her home, especially for the holidays. Family was everything to her and she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was loved by all who had the privilege to know her.

Surviving her are her children, Roselyn Headley and her husband Stephen of Springfield, Melinda McGuire and her husband Greg of North Carolina, Betsy Jabour of Florida, Andrew “AJ” Jabour of Methuen, Darrell Jabour of Methuen, and Carmen Herrera and her husband Gus of Methuen; 12 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her daughter, Crystal Jabour and her siblings, Harriet Moore, Violet Ada Wildes, Bessy Underhill, Margaret DeLellis, Vivian O’Niel, Harold Sheys, Ralph Sheys and Harry Sheys Jr.

Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours Wednesday, Nov. 2, from 10 a.m. to noon, at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill. A funeral service follows at noon in the funeral home. Burial will be in Leavitt Road Cemetery, Fremont, N.H. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Amesbury 7th Day Adventist Church, 171 Main Street, Amesbury, MA 01913.
