The Haverhill School Committee is scheduled to vote tonight on draft contracts for the district’s newest assistant superintendent, special education director and director of strategy and accountability.
Committee members are asked to approve a nearly three-year contract agreement for Assistant Superintendent Jared Fulgoni, a three-year agreement with Director of Special Education (SPED) Kyle Riley, as well as a nearly two-year contract for Director of Strategy and Accountability Darshan Thakkar. Fulgoni would be paid a pro-rated amount from the $132,500 annual assistant superintendent salary, effective Aug. 25 to June 30, 2017. His contract would be subject to salary review for the following two school years by that date. Riley would receive a $120,000 salary the current school year and a similar salary review by the end of next June. Thakkar would receive a pro-rated $127,500 salary, from Sept 1 to June 30, 2017 and salary review for the second year of his contract.
Fulgoni was promoted from director of strategy and accountability, as recommended to the committee by Superintendent James F. Scully. He succeeded former Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum Julie R. Kukenberger, who became superintendent at the Scarborough, Maine, school district in July.
Riley, who previously served as interim SPED director, became the permanent director July 1 after the school committee in June reached a tie vote between he and another search process candidate.
Thakkar was promoted from assistant principal at Consentino School to succeed Fulgoni as director of strategy and accountability.
The Haverhill School Committee meets at 7 p.m., tonight, in Theodore A, Pelosi Jr. Council Chambers at Haverhill City Hall.
We have excellent people in our school administration and they should be paid well. It would be beneficial to all to have them stay. Lets hope the school committee votes to pay them fairly and keep them here. The competition among the various school districts is keen as pertains to the hiring of quality administrators. Lets stay at the the top and pay them what they deserve
