Sheila Ann (Law) Sarto, 77, Worked as Flower Arranger

Sheila Ann (Law) Sarto, 77, of Haverhill, passed away Saturday, Oct. 15, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Brighton. She was the wife of the late Louis Sarto.

Born in Haverhill April 24, 1939, she was the daughter of the late James and Antoinette (Caputo) Law. A lifelong resident of Haverhill, Sarto graduated from St. James School and later worked for Angelo the Florist as a flower arranger. She was also employed for many years as a book binder. She was an avid racing enthusiast and enjoyed her visits to Rockingham Park. In her spare time she found pleasure visiting Foxwoods, playing bingo and watching her favorite sports team, the Boston Red Sox. At home, nothing made her happier than time with her cats. Sheila was an animal lover and especially enjoyed the many cats she had adopted over her lifetime.

She is survived by her loving and doting nephew, James “Jimmy” Barry and his wife, Katrina of Medford; several nieces and nephews, including Pat Miller and Susan Shuker; and many dear friends.

Visiting hours take place Thursday at Linnehan-Grondin Funeral Home, 129 Kenoza Ave., Haverhill from 5 to 7 p.m. Her funeral mass will be celebrated Friday in St. James Church, 185 Winter St., Haverhill, at 11 a.m. Interment will be held in St. James Cemetery, Haverhill. In lieu of flowers, Sheila’s family kindly requests that memorial donations be made in her name to MSPCA at Nevins Farm, 400 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844.
