Police​ ​Probe​ ​Possible​ ​String​ ​of​ ​Convenience​ ​Store​ ​Robberies​

A video surveillance system captured the image of a man, police say, robbed a Groveland Street convenience store at gunpoint.

Haverhill​ ​police​ ​are​ ​investigating​ ​whether​ ​at​ ​least​ ​two​ ​armed​ ​robberies​ ​at​ ​local​ ​gas​ ​and​ ​convenience stores​ ​within​ ​a​ ​week,​ ​as​ ​well​ ​as​ ​a​ ​weekend​ ​doughnut​ ​shop​ ​robbery,​ ​are​ ​related.

The​ ​latest​ ​was​ ​reported​ ​to​ ​police​ ​Sunday,​ ​at​ ​8:41​ ​p.m,​ ​at​ ​Bradford​ ​Mobil,​ ​807​ ​S.​ ​Main​ ​St.​ ​Police​ ​Lt. Robert​ ​P.​ ​Pistone​ ​told​ ​WHAV​ ​investigators​ ​are​ ​looking​ ​into​ ​a​ ​possible​ ​connection​ ​to​ ​the​ ​Sunday,​ ​Oct.​ ​9 robbery​ ​at​ ​the​ ​Speedway​ ​gas​ ​and​ ​convenience​ ​store​ ​at​ ​491​ ​Groveland​ ​St.

Pistone​ ​said​ ​that​ ​after​ ​the​ ​Mobil​ ​robbery,​ ​a​ ​clerk​ ​told​ ​police​ ​he​ ​was​ ​preparing​ ​to​ ​close​ ​when​ ​a​ ​white male​ ​of​ ​medium​ ​build,​ ​wearing​ ​a​ ​mask​ ​and​ ​dark​ ​clothes,​ ​ordered​ ​him​ ​to​ ​open​ ​the​ ​register.

“The​ ​suspect​ ​brandished​ ​a​ ​knife​ ​and​ ​ordered​ ​the​ ​clerk​ ​to​ ​get​ ​on​ ​the​ ​ground.​ ​The​ ​suspect​ ​left​ ​the​ ​store with​ ​an​ ​undisclosed​ ​amount​ ​of​ ​cash,”​ ​Pistone​ ​said.

A​ ​photo​ ​from​ ​store​ ​surveillance​ ​was​ ​not​ ​immediately​ ​available.
