Cynthia J. (Simpson) Danahy, 65, Nurse at Local Hospitals

Cynthia J. (Simpson) Danahy, 65, of Haverhill, passed away Oct. 18 at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Derry, N.H., she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Rita (Lavoie) Simpson. She attended Tenny High School, Methuen, and was a graduate of the class of 1969. She then attended the Lawrence Vocational Nursing Program and became a licensed nurse. She was employed at various hospitals in the Merrimack Valley and at Hampstead Hospital in Hampstead, N.H. She enjoyed playing Bingo as much as she could. She also liked to play computer games. She liked to watch her favorite TV shows and was a movie buff.

She is survived by her children, Christopher D. Arsenault of Lowell; Andrew T. Danahy of Raymond, N.H.; Tracy J. Phillips of Fall River; her siblings, Wayne L. Simpson and his wife Phyllis of Bradford; Donald C. Simpson and his wife Colleen of Hampstead, N.H.; grandchildren, Dean Young, Todd Goodwin, Meghan Adams and Alexis Arsenault; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Sandra L. Houle and brother Michael A. Ghilliotti.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours Saturday, Oct. 22, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill. Funeral services follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be private. A special thanks to Eileen and Lori Simpson.
