Suzanne E. (Faxon) Salvi-Swartz, 73, Hale Hospital LPN

suzanne_salvi-swartzSuzanne E. (Faxon) Salvi-Swartz, 73, of Haverhill, died last Monday, Oct. 10, at Holy Family Hospital, Methuen.

She was born in Haverhill, Dec. 20, 1942, daughter of the late G. Ernest and Eleanor (Campbell) Faxon. Educated in the Haverhill school system, Salvi-Swartz earned her Licensed Practical Nursing Degree from the former Bon Secour Hospital School of Nursing. For more than 50 years she was employed as an LPN at the former Hale Hospital, Merrimac Dialysis and retired from the Middleton Jail. She lived for the time spent with her grandchildren. She loved spinning Mattie in his wheelchair, shopping with Maggie or a lunch date with Nicole and Kayla. An accomplished gardener, her gardens were one of the most beautiful in the neighborhood. Salvi-Swartz was also an avid cook and traveler. She traveled extensively all over the country and also spent time in Ireland, Italy and Wales. Her favorite thing to do was entertaining at her home.

She was the wife of the late Frank Salvi who died in 1985 and the late David Swartz who died in 2009. Her survivors include a daughter, Robyne Uliano and her husband Ronald of Atkinson, N.H.; son, Barry Lavoie of Haverhill; sister, Mrs. John (Sandy) Carleton of Groveland; brother, David E. Faxon and his wife Linda of Manchester, Conn.; and four grandchildren, Matthew and Maggie Uliano, Nicole Lavoie and Kayla Murch.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her calling hours Monday, Oct. 17, from 4 to 7 p.m., at H.L. Farmer and Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill. Her funeral is Tuesday morning, Oct. 18, beginning at 11, from the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at noon in Sacred Hearts Church, Bradford. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Bradford.
