Asperger Works Honors Sen. L’Italien Saturday in Haverhill

State Sen. Barbara L’Italien will be honored for her work on behalf of the disabled community when Asperger Works has its Second Annual “Dinner of Hope,” this Saturday in downtown Haverhill.

The organization’s goal is to fulfill the hopes of adults with Asperger’s Syndrome to become gainfully employed in meaningful jobs through educating employers and providing job coaching. Beside’s L’Italien, others to be honored are the Northeast Independent Living Program and Dusya Lyubovskaya.

The dinner takes place Saturday, Oct. 22, from 7 to 11 p.m., at Maria’s Galleria Banquet Room, 81 Essex St., Haverhill. Cocktails and registration begin at 6 p.m.

The keynote speaker is Congresswoman Niki Tsongas.
