Barbara J. (Hart) Kochakian, 82, Worked at Valley Tree

barbara_kochakianBarbara J. (Hart) Kochakian, 82, of Georgetown, passed away Wednesday Oct. 12, at Penacook Place in Haverhill.

She was born in Georgetown Oct. 5, 1934, daughter of the late Howard and Ella (Russell) Hart. She graduated from Perley High School, then went on to complete her nurses training at Beverly Hospital. Although she always considered her first job to be a “Homemaker,” she also worked for many years at Valley Tree, Groveland, and  Georgetown Municipal Light Department. She was an avid gardener and loved all kinds of flowers. She loved her home and enjoyed cooking and baking as well as spending time with her family and grandchildren. She loved to walk and was seen daily walking around town. She and and her husband Stephen loved to camp and spent many years as seasonal campers in the White Mountains.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Stephen K. Kochakian of Georgetown; sons Scott S. and his wife Lynne of Haverhill and Robert H. and his wife Gail of Early Branch, S.C.; brother Howard L. Hart Jr. and his wife Norma of Salem, N.H.; grandchildren Lauren E. Kochakian and her fiancé William Diener, Matthew R. Kochakian and his wife Wendy and granddaughter Emily J. Kochakian; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Shirley M. Walker.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours Sunday, Oct. 16, from 2 to 5 p.m., at H.L. Farmer and Sons Bradford Funeral Home, 210 South Main St. (route 125). Her funeral service will be Monday, Oct. 17, 11 a.m., at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Harmony Cemetery, Georgetown.
