Haverhill’s ‘Walk for Peace’ Takes Place Saturday

Haverhill Violence Intervention and Prevention (VIP) is having its 10th annual “Walk for Peace” Saturday, Oct. 15, from 1 to 3:30 p.m.

The walk begins, rain or shine, from Consentino School, 685 Washington St., and ends at Tilton Elementary School, 70 Grove St., with a celebration. The event, with participation by the Mount Washington group Urban Kindness, is free and open to the public.

“The event strives to raise awareness and celebrate the commitment of efforts within our community that address and prevent the impact of violence,” a statement reads. “It offers another wonderful opportunity to encourage positive citizenship for our students and for Haverhill Public Schools to demonstrate its commitment to family and community engagement.”

Activities include music, a “speak out” forum, zumba and refreshments.
