Anna (Karaganis) Andromidas, 75, Grieco Bros. Stitcher

anna_andromidasAnna (Karaganis) Andromidas, 75, longtime Haverhill resident passed away peacefully Monday, Oct. 10, at the Wingate at Haverhill.

She was born Dec. 21, 1940, in Ierakas, Lakonia, Greece, daughter of the late Kostantinos and Eleni (Belesi) Karaganis. Wife of almost 49 years to Lambros Andromidas, they married in Greece and lived in Athens for a short time before immigrating to the United States, settling in Haverhill. They raised their family together and she worked as a stitcher for Grieco Brothers for 25 years until her retirement. Her activities included cooking, baking Greek cookies, gardening and planting. Most of all, she was devout to her Greek Orthodox faith.

Her surviving family members, in addition to her husband, include her daughter Anastasia Dimopoulos and husband James of Haverhill; grandsons George, Louis (Lambros) and Dean (Kosta); siblings Dimitrios Karaganis of Nashua, N.H., Anastasios Karaganis of Haverhill and Elias Karaganis of North Attleborough; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Maria Karaganis and Panagiota Karaganis.

Her funeral will be Thursday morning, Oct. 13, beginning at Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 South Main St., Haverhill, 10 a.m. Funeral Service in the Holy Apostles Saints Peter and Paul Greek Orthodox Church, 154-156 Winter Street, Haverhill at 11 a.m. Interment in Linwood Cemetery.
