While local access to Merrimack Street business is being maintained, detours and street closures near the Harbor Place construction site “should be coming to an end shortly.”
The latest street closure request, for Friday and notification to abutting business at the eastern end of Merrimack Street, was requested Thursday by Harbor Place general contractor Dellbrook Construction.
“We appreciate them putting up the disruptions and they should be coming to an end shortly,” Dellbrook Senior Construction Superintendent Al Nassar said in an e-mail to Haverhill Economic Development and Planning Director William Pillsbury.
A series of temporary street closures, one-way restrictions and detours on Merrimack Street, using How Street as a diversion between Bailey Boulevard, have occurred since March to allow utility and other work at the Harbor Place project construction project.
