Massachusetts State Police are investigating the cause of a fatal, single vehicle rollover crash this morning on Interstate 495 northbound, near exit 53 in Merrimac, just outside Haverhill.
The crash, reported at about 7:45 a.m., involved a Ford Econoline passenger van which rolled over in the median area, according to state police. Sources also report one fatality and serious injury, involving ejection and entrapment, to an unknown number of others.
Traffic was restricted to the right travel and breakdown lanes. A state police accident reconstruction team also responded as Merrimac fire and ambulance units also assisted.
