Juana Cruz, 83, Worked for Hadco Company

juana_cruzJuana Cruz, 83, of Haverhill, died Thursday, Aug. 25, at Holy Family Hospital, Methuen.

Born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, Nov. 20, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Victoriano and Juana (DeJesus) Cruz. She has resided in Haverhill for the past 42 years. She was employed as a quality control inspector for Hadco Company in Haverhill for many years until her retirement in 2000. She was also a renowned seamstress and a longtime communicant of St. James Parish.

She is survived by two daughters, Sandra M. Segura-Fils and her husband, Joseph, and Manuela A. Martinez and her husband, Manuel; four grandchildren, Julie Sordillo, Ciara L. Fils, Aracelis Martinez and Haverhill Firefighter, Andre Martinez; three great-grandchildren; two sisters and many nieces and nephews from Dominican Republic. She was also predeceased by her son, Haverhill Firefighter, Hector Segura, who died in the line of duty in 1990.

A period of visitation takes place Monday, from 11:30 to 1 p.m., in St. James Parish, 161 Winter St., Haverhill.  A funeral Mass will be celebrated following visitation at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the Hector Segura Scholarship Fund, c/o Haverhill Fire Dept. Credit Union, 75 Kenoza Ave., Haverhill, MA 01830. Interment will be held in Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill. Arrangements are under the direction of the Linnehan-Grondin Funeral Home, 129 Kenoza Ave., Haverhill.
