I know a person who has been pursuing a life’s dream for a long time. As this dream is now coming closer and closer to reality we had a conversation in which I complimented this individual for staying the course through one apparent roadblock after another. And for playing out many hands of political and logistical cards while it certainly looked like the possibility of realizing the dream may not even be in the deck.

One key part of our conversation that really struck me was being told by this person that being a coach I probably would say that everything, all the obstacles, all the hurdles, all the delays, all the time consuming work was for a reason. What came to my mind immediately were the words of President John F Kennedy, “Things don’t just happen. They are made to happen.” That is exactly what I think and that is what I said to this person, because I believe it.

Science shows us that everything is made up of energy. It is the building block of all matter. The energy that composes our mind and body is the same one that composes the wood of our houses, the windows from which to see the world outside while keeping comfortable inside all year round, the light bulbs and the electricity that allow us to flick a switch and light up the dark at night and so forth. It’s all the same, energy constantly at flow, changing form all the time. Hence, our thoughts, the most potent form of energy have a great impact on everything that forms in the universe and our lives. Just by committing to think and feel in a certain way can make a shift in the universe and our world (that is the way I see it anyway).

Logically digging a bit deeper there is a place where all things begin, a location of “Pure Energy” (you can name this for yourself, my term is God). So, are we all part of “Pure Energy?” Do we originate from this? You will never figure it. You just believe you do, or you don’t. Just as you believe, or don’t that our thoughts are always finding form in which to manifest themselves.

The question we all need to answer for ourselves is do things just happen by chance? Or are things made to happen for a reason? For me comprehending this dynamic process is easiest when I take the time to stand back and look at the big picture of my life. When I do I always see that the happenstances of my life just happen to line up as one unbelievable coincidence after the other. Whether I like what happens or not I am forever creating my reality through what I think. And my thinking is the one and only thing I can truly control in my life. You might want to think about this for yourself.

As the saying goes, watch your thoughts, they become words. Watch your words, they become actions. Watch your actions, they become habits. Watch your habits, they become your character. Watch your character, it becomes your destiny.
