Lucille M. (Dichard) Penta, 79, Worked in Shoe Industry

lucille_pentaLucille M. (Dichard) Penta, 79, of Haverhill, wife of the late Charles J. Penta, passed away Aug. 22, at Hannah Duston Healthcare, Haverhill, surrounded by her family.

Born in Haverhill, she was the daughter of the late Alfred J. and Helen M. (Hume) Dichard. Raised and educated in Haverhill, she was a graduate of Haverhill High School, class of 1955. She was employed at various shoe manufacturers in Haverhill but was mainly a homemaker. Penta was an identical twin and she was inseparable from her sister. She loved to play cards, especially 45s with her family. She lived in Florida for 20 years with her late husband and enjoyed playing pickle ball. With her husband, she moved back to her hometown of Haverhill in 2012. She also loved to play Bingo and did every chance she had.

She is survived by her daughter, Lucille M. Ouellette of Haverhill; step son, Anthony Penta of Derry, N.H.; siblings, Butch Dichard and his wife Jane of Haverhill, Alfred Dichard and his wife Pat of Merrimac, Mary Nelson and her husband Ed of Bradford, Carol Boule and her husband Charles of Bradford, Helen Batchelder of Haverhill and Rita Vaiksnovas of Methuen; grandson, Jeffrey Emerson Jr. of North Carolina; two great grandchildren, Steffanie and Evan Emerson of North Carolina; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Charles J. Penta, Jr. and her granddaughter, Jessica Ouellette.

Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours Thursday, Aug. 25, from 5 to 7 p.m., at  Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill. A graveside service will be held Friday, Aug. 26, at 11 a.m., at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, North Broadway, Haverhill.
