Estervina (Cruz) Cardenales, 75, Worked for Allen Shoe

Estervina_CardenalesEstervina (Cruz) Cardenales, 75, of Haverhill, wife of Florencio Cardenales, passed away unexpectedly at home Aug, 20, surrounded by her family.

Born in Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Feliciana (Velequez) Cruz. Raised and educated in Puerto Rico, she relocated to the United States with her family when she was 16 years old. She met her husband Florencio in Brooklyn, N.Y., when she arrived, and for the past 45 years has lived in Haverhill. She was employed as a packer for the Allen Shoe Company in Haverhill for 10 years. Primarily a homemaker and her most treasured moments were time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Roberto Cardenales of Haverhill, Madeline Cardenales of Haverhill,Nellie Cardenales of Hollywood, Fla., and Felicia Cardenales of Haverhill; sister, Georgina Perez of West Park, FlaL; seven grandchildren, Anna Maria Cruz, Daniel Antonio Marte, Ariel Michael Marte, Alexander O. Pagan, Andrew W. Pagan, Jessel Nickolas Cardenales and Niko Xavier Cardenales; four great grandchildren, Emmalysa A. Marte, Javin J. Marte, Aaden C. Pagan and Sofia M. Pagan; and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours Wednesday, Aug. 24 from 4 to 7 p.m., at Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill. Funeral services begin at the funeral home at 9 a.m., Thursday, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10, in St. James Church, Winter Street, Haverhill. Burial will be private.
