Haverhill firefighters hope to launch a new tradition with a Haverhill Fire 5K road race, beginning on the 15th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attack on the United States.
The race, which will pay for scholarships, begins at noon, Sunday, Sept. 11, at the Whiskey Barrel, 27 Lafayette Square.
There will be prizes for the top three finishers in male and female categories. Tickets are $30 and include post-race beer tickets. Dry fit T-shirts will be given to runners preregistered by Sept. 1
