Police Make Seven Arrests on Wide Range of Charges

A Haverhill woman, arrested by Haverhill police late Thursday night on a drunk driving charge, is due to be arraigned in Haverhill District Court.

Alyse Champsi, 31, of 2 Worthen Place, Haverhill, was arrested at 11:46 p.m. on Emerson St. She was charged with driving under the influence of liquor.

In other police news, a man listed as homeless faces vandalism and other charges after his arrest late Thursday morning.

Ronald Lawler, 45, last known address of 21 Sixth Ave., Haverhill, was arrested at 11:17 a.m. at 36 Vine St. He was charged with destruction of property and violation of a harassment protection order. Lawler also had an outstanding warrant related to threatening to commit a crime.

Haverhill police also took into custody, separately, three men and two women during a warrant sweep Thursday during a 20-hour span. They were sought by police related to charges ranging from failure to attend jury duty to theft and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Steven Legatos, 46, 75 Sixth Ave., Haverhill, warrants relating to receiving stolen property (two counts), possession of burglarious tool, drug possession with intent to distribute (two counts), possession of a class B drug, criminal harassment, threat to commit a crime, driving with a suspended license (three counts) and a vehicle lights violation, 12:12 a.m., 2 Hilldale Ave.

Nathan Saben, 28, 127 Winter St., Haverhill, warrant related to felony breaking and entering in the nighttime, larceny over $250, credit card fraud and identity fraud, 6:48 a.m., 127 Winter St.

Crystal Wade, 23, 36 Pilling St., Haverhill, warrant: assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, destruction of property, 7:40 a.m., 135 Lafayette Square

Yarelis Martinez, 18, 46 Green St., Haverhill, warrant: assault and battery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, 2:56 p.m., 62 Portland St.

Shaun Raynes, 28, 29 Kenoza St., Haverhill, warrant: failure to attend jury duty, 8:33 p.m., 29 Kenoza St.
