Agata D. (D’Orazio) “Ada” DiGiacomo, 86, Owned Hampton Motel

Agata_Donata_DiGiacomoAgata D. (D’Orazio) “Ada” DiGiacomo, 86, of Haverhill and Hampton Beach, N.H., passed away Wednesday, Aug. 2, at Exeter Hospital.

She was born in Bisegna, Italy, Feb, 20, 1930, daughter of the late Giovanni and Italia (Villanucci) D’Orazio. DiGiacomo was educated in Italy and immigrated to the U.S. in 1960. For 43 years she was the owner and operator of the Dolphyn Motel at Hampton Beach, where she formed many acquaintances and friendships. She developed a strong rapport with the many visitors she encountered over her years of operation. In her free time, DiGiacomo enjoyed cooking for family and friends and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her three children, Mary S. Sebring of Shrewsbury and her former husband Stephen of Worcester, Louie D. DiGiacomo and Gino DiGiacomo both of Haverhill; sister, Flora Mazzola and her husband Joseph of Haverhill; three grandchildren, Andrew M. Sebring and his wife Jessica, Christopher J. Sebring and Giovanni DiGiacomo; two great granddaughters, Zoe and Andie Sebring; and several nieces and nephews. DiGiacomo was predeceased by two sisters; Maria D’Orazio from Haverhill and Cesidia (D’Orazio) Antonelli from Pescara, Italy.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours Sunday, Aug. 7, from 5 to 8 p.m., at  H.L. Farmer and Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill. Her funeral will be Monday, Aug. 8, beginning at 10, from the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at All Saints Parish,120 Bellevue Ave, Haverhill, at 11. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Haverhill.
