Michael A. Lynch, 68, Northern Essex Achievement Coach

michael_lynchMichael A. Lynch, 68, of Haverhill, died Thursday morning, July 28, at Hannah Duston Health Care, Haverhill, after a battle with brain cancer.

He was born in Somerville, Jan. 12, 1948, son of the late Cornelius and Alice P. (Brown) Lynch. Raised in the Bradford section of Haverhill, Lynch attended Sacred Hearts School and graduated from Central Catholic High School, class of 1965. He earned his bachelor’s from Bridgewater State and his master’s from Salem State.
For more than 30 years he was employed by the Massachusetts Department of Workforce Development, from where he retired in 2010 as regional manager. Upon retiring, he worked part-time at North Shore Community College as a recruiter and, more recently, as an achievement coach at Northern Essex Community College.
He cherished time spent with his children at Red Sox and Celtics games, was an avid golfer and card player, and long time member of the Garibaldi Club, Haverhill.

His survivors include his wife of 35 years, Judith (Ray) Lynch of Haverhill; daughter, Tara R. Lynch of Lowell; son, Garrett M. Lynch of South Boston; sister, Mary Lynch of Arlington, Texas; and brother, Kevin Lynch of Clinton, N.Y.

Calling hours were Sunday at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Bradford Funeral Home, 210 South Main St., Bradford. His funeral will be Monday, Aug. 1, beginning at 11:30 a.m., at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30 p.m., at Sacred Hearts Church, Bradford. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Bradford.
