Harry Oscar Alexanian, 64, Self Employed Healthcare Recruiter

harry_alexanianHarry Oscar Alexanian, 64, of Hampstead, N.H., died Saturday afternoon, July 30, at his residence after a battle with brain cancer.

He was born in Worcester, Aug. 31, 1951, son of the late Harry and Virginia (Garabedian) Alexanian. Educated in the Worcester school system, he earned his bachelor’s in music from Bentley College and his master’s in business administration from the University of Massachusetts Lowell. For more than 30 years he was self employed as a healthcare recruiter. An accomplished musician, Alexanian played bass guitar in several local bands and also performed solo as “Just Harry.” He made a CD of “Just Harry,” where he played all the instruments and sang vocals. He was a member of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Haverhill, and it’s Knights of Vartan, as well as the Hampstead, N.H., GOP. He also enjoyed photography and cherished his many trips to Disney World with his wife.

His survivors include his wife of 20 years, Joyce (Tashjian) Alexanian of Hampstead, N.H.; brother, Zachary Alexanian and his wife Angela of Groveland; former sister-in-law, Alice Atemian and her husband Phillip Picard of Atkinson, N.H.; sister-in-law, Jeannette Roberts and her husband Harvey of Plaistow, N.H.; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours Tuesday, Aug. 2, from 10 a.m. to noon, at H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill. There will be a service by the Knights of Vartan at 12:15, immediately followed by a funeral service at the funeral home. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
