Ernest A. St. Pierre, 85, Korean War Veteran

Ernest_St. PierreErnest A. St. Pierre, 85, of Salem and formerly of Haverhill, lost his eight-year battle with lung cancer Friday,July 29.

St. Pierre was raised as a state ward child in Haverhill by the Pare family when both he and his brother, Victor (who is predeceased), were handed over by their mother. He attended Haverhill schools and Haverhill Trade School. He was an avid fisherman, member of the Bass Haven Yacht Club, Beverly. A Veteran of the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Navy during the early 1950s. When he returned home, he was a master in the field of sheet metal fabrication and welding. He worked for various companies such as Hatch Sheet Metal, Essex Engineering, West Lynn Creamery and A&M Roofing along with many odd jobs he performed on his own.

He leaves his first born son, Ernie Jr., his wife Brenda, grandson Christopher and great grandson Derek; current wife Elaine; daughters, Dawn and Laurie; sons Mark, Ronny and Steven; several grandchildren; and many cousins.

Per his wishes, there will be no services.
