James P. O’Brien, 68, Vietnam Veteran, Worked at Wang Labs

James P. O’Brien, 68, passed away July 23, at Lakeview House Nursing Home, Haverhill, surrounded by his family.

Born in Medford, he was the son of the late Paul J. and Miriam H. (Flanagan) O’Brien. He moved with his family from Saugus to Boxford, where he attended Masconomet High School and graduated with the class of 1966. He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Vietnam Era. O’Brien worked as a computer technician for Wang Labs and, more recently, CIL Inc., Lawrence.

He is survived by his siblings, Janice Kelly and her husband Gary of Bradford, Paul O’Brien of Boxborough and Mary Findiesen of Methuen, Joanne O’Brien of Salisbury, Nancy Pugh and her husband Gordon of Topsfield, John O’Brien and his wife Lee of Georgetown, Suzanne Leighton and her husband Nicholas of Georgetown and Mark O’Brien and Craig Hiltz of Walpole; aunts, Ruth Wentzel of Medford and Barbara Sullivan of Malden; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are private. Arrangements are by the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill.
