Grants for Artists, Others Available from Haverhill Cultural Council

The Haverhill Cultural Council, which has given away more than $25,000 during the last year to local arts, humanities and science programs, is moving to an online grant application this September.

This was among the information presented to WHAV’s Open Mike Show listeners and viewers Monday night by Alison Colby-Campbell and Robin Valentino, members of the Haverhill Cultural Council. Assisting in the background was Letriah Masters, council chairperson.

For every $1 spent on the arts, $7 is returned to the community in related economic activity, according to Americans for the Arts National Report on Arts & Economic Prosperity. Haverhill Cultural Council, as a member of the Local Cultural Council Program of the Massachusetts Cultural Council, receives its funding from the Commonwealth.
