Stephen T. Blackey, 55, of Haverhill, passed away Tuesday, July 12, at Lakeview House Nursing Home, Haverhill, surrounded by his family.
Born in Haverhill, he was the son of Charlotte J. (Batchelder) Blackey and the late Ernest Blackey. Raised and educated in Haverhill, he attended Haverhill High School. He worked as a laborer in construction for many years. Blackey was avid NASCAR fan and loved to play horseshoes. He could be seen riding around town on his bicycle or hanging with his dog.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his siblings, Michael Blackey of Framingham; Judy Lajoie and her husband Daniel of Burlington, Vt., David Blackey of South Carolina, Darlene Paquette and her husband Darius of Wolfboro, N.H., Dwayne Blackey of Haverhill, Tina Muir and her husband Todd of Haverhill and Daniel Batchelder of Seneca, South Carolina; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters, Cynthia Weiner and Susan DeRoche.
Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours Monday, July 18 from 5 to 8 p.m., at Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill. Funeral services take place Tuesday, 10 a.m., at the funeral home. Burial follows at Hillside Cemetery, Broadway, Haverhill.
