Haverhill Police Arrest Five on Unrelated Assault Charges

Five people, arrested in Haverhill over the weekend, are scheduled to be arraigned on separate assault-related charges in Haverhill District Court.

Matthew Dodge, 40, of 180 Groveland St., Haverhill, was arrested by Haverhill police at 10:22 p.m., Sunday, at home. He was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon and carrying a dangerous weapon.

Emanuel Panousos, 40, of 70 Washington St., Haverhill, was arrested at 10:28 a.m., Sunday, at 20 Washington St. He was charged with assault and destruction of property.

Luis Melendez, 24, of Lawrence, was arrested at 9:38 a.m., Sunday, at 73 Beach St. He was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon.

Giovanni Mendoza, 44, of Lawrence, was arrested at 5:53 a.m., Saturday, at 40 Portland St. He was charged with two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon and one count of felony breaking and entering in the daytime.

Jack Buzzell, 31, of 19 Orchard Ave., Haverhill, was arrested at 2:31 a.m., Saturday, at 283 Lincoln Ave. He was charged with assault and threat to commit a crime.

In other police news:

A Haverhill man is facing theft charges, among others, in district court following his arrest Friday night at CVS Pharmacy, 150 Lafayette Square. John Burkhardt, 21, of 28 Hillside St., Haverhill, was arrested at 9 p.m., Friday and charged with two counts of receiving stolen property, larceny of a credit card and disguise to obstruct justice.

Luis Ledesma, 52, of 27 Vine St., Haverhill, was arrested at 2:24 p.m., Friday, on Pentucket Street. He was charged with distribution of a class B drug and conspiracy to violate drug laws.
