Sandra Lee (Poulsen) Nason, 70, Needle Worker Artist

sandra_lee_nasonSandra Lee (Poulsen) Nason, 70, wife of Paul W. Nason, passed away Sunday, July 10, at Wingate Nursing Home, surrounded by her family.

Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Cyril C. and Esther M. (Nelson) Poulsen. She attended Sanborn Seminary High School, Kingston, N.H., and was a graduate of the class of 1964. Raised in Plaistow, N.H., she and her husband moved to Methuen where they started their family. She then moved to Hinckley, Utah, and back to the Haverhill area in 1982. She was a talented needle worker and enjoyed embroidery, crochet and quilting.  She was also a talented sketch artist and collector of coins, stamps, comic books and stones. Her favorite pastime was reading, especially animal stories and her scriptures.  She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was a member of its women’s organization, The Relief Society.

Besides her husband, she leaves her children, Amylyn Hull and her husband Jeffrey F. Jr. of Haverhill and Abraham Nason of Haverhill; sisters, Elissa J. Ranney and her husband Michael of Sandown, N.H., and Verlie A. Grotenhuis and her husband Neal of Atkinson, N.H.; daughter-in-law, Kimberly A. Nason; five grandchildren, Lewis I. Hull, Ashley Grant-Barrow, Maylyn, Rebecca and Adam P. Nason Jr.; and great grandchild, Daniella Barrow. She is predeceased by her son Adam P. Nason.

Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services Saturday, July 23, at 11 a.m., at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 9 Jewett St., Georgetown, followed by a luncheon in the church Cultural Hall. Burial will follow at a later date in Plaistow Cemetery, Plaistow, N.H. Arrangements are by the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill.
